Who is Louis Michel Gratton?
Born in Saint Lambert on August 28th, 1946, Louis Michel Gratton studied Economics at Collège Sainte Marie, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree. Following this, he obtained an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business of the University of Western Ontario.
A specialist in corporate finance, he worked for more than twenty five years for financial institutions before founding in 1994, Brome Financial Corporation over which he presided until 2007. Since then, he has completed several management and consultation mandates as well as pursuing a writing career.
Very involved in his community, Louis Michel Gratton was Mayor of Saint Lambert (1981-1986), as well as Prefect of the MRC of Champlain (1983-1986). During this same period, he also served as member on the executive committee of the South Shore Transport Commission. In 1992, he was a member of the governmental commission on the administration and organization of Montreal and its region that gave birth to the Pichette Report in 1993. He presided over the Montreal chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) for three years in addition to serving as a member of the board of directors of Moisson Rive- Sud, the second largest food bank in Quebec. For a period of four years, he acted as president of the Commercial Development Corporation of Saint Lambert.
Married to Judith Turcotte, Louis Michel Gratton has two children and four grandchildren.
